About Journal

If you're looking for this list, you probably already know who Ricky is. But just in case you don't, Ricky Buchanan is a young woman who lives in the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. She has multiple disabilities and chronic illnesses, so her physical activities are profoundly restricted. However, she's a natural-born computer geek, and she has friends on the Internet all around the world. Ricky keeps a journal of her experiences, thoughts, feelings, and observations, on her webpage - the URL for the Journal is: http://notdoneliving.net/journal/ People are invited to leave comments to her journal entries, and when people started commenting on each other's comments, Ricky set up a mailing list so that general conversation would be easier. That's what we do on this list - we talk about stuff from Ricky's journal. We also talk about stuff from our own lives, and generally chat amongst ourselves. One topic of discussion is the adventures of Chilli Dog, a well-traveled stuffed animal. Ricky has an assortment of stuffed toys, some of which acompany her when she has to be in a hospital for a while. On one of those unfortunate hospital stays, a visitor said that Chilli in particular looked like a traveling dog... and thus an idea was born. Ricky would love to travel around the world and visit all her Internet friends in person, but she's not well enough to travel. Instead, Chilli visits them and has adventures for her. He reports back to all of us, with photos of him visiting local attractions at each stop. (In other words, he gets mailed from one person to another, and whoever is hosting him takes pictures and writes up the adventures.) Chilli's travel experiences are far from our only subject though. Just jump right into any conversation you see going on, or bring up something you want to talk about. We're all friends here... and we're all Ricky's friends here. Subscribing to Journal
